WHERE YOU ARE
Words and Music by Howie Klausner & Ron Eng
Well I woke up late this morning, alone and missing you.
Thinking about all we have been and all that we went through.
Well I guess it just got easy, so I put you and me aside.
Like a thing that I don't need no more, like me and foolish pride.
When will I learn?
When will I learn?
I wannabe where you are.
I wannabe where you are.
I want to dream the dream you give to me,
I wannabe where you are.
I was wiser when I was younger, I walked and talked with you.
Didn't need to hear, didn't need to see, I knew just what I knew.
But this world goes round and round, and these days sure grind you down.
Look over here, look over there--ain't nothing to be found.
When will I learn?
When will I learn?
Repeat chorus
I want to sing the song of angels,
I want to dance on every star.
I want to live this dream... you give to me.
Well I woke up with the sun today, took a walk with you.
Laughing about all we have been, and all that we went through.
Now I know this dream I live today, begins and ends with you.
With you right by, I'm satisfied, and all my dreams came true.
When will I learn?
When will I learn?
Repeat chorus
I want to live the dream you give to me
I want to see everything that I can see
I want to live my life in harmony
I want the whole wide world to be set free
I want this dream our destiny
I wannabe, wannabe, wannabe, wannabe,
Wannabe, wannabe, wannabe
Where you are.

PRODUCTION NOTES
This one's pretty on-the-nose, as they say. It's a song about missing your center. And getting it back. When we listened to the first mix, Ron and I agreed that something was missing. Everybody was there doing vocal stuff late one night, and it was Vanessa who cracked it, with that little bird-like, "Wanna be, wanna be" echo. Here Ron and I had been working like fools on this thing for weeks, and in five minutes, she put it right where it was supposed to be.
